Who is a pharmacist?

Stephanie turned 10 last November. She's sweet, kind and helpful. (well she does have her moods sometimes too, who doesn't yeah?). She's also very talkative, and she loves adult company, especially if they would listen to her chatter :-)

Last Friday :

Stephanie : Uncle M, what do you do? What is your work?
Uncle M : I am a pharmacist.
Stephanie : *eyes rounded, looking impressed* Which farm do you work at?
Uncle M : *huh?*
Stephanie : You are a farmer's assistant right?

Kudos Damian and Marcus!

UPSR Results were out last Thursday (19 Nov).

As expected - 5As for both Damian and Marcus. (out of 87 students, 19 of them got 5As.)

Now we can all relax. The weeks before the exam.... the weeks after the exams.... were pretty torturous for Damian , and me! Damian - because that's Damian la. He allows his imagination to run wild with 'what ifs'.
What if he wrote the wrong thing,
what if he accidentally shade the wrong box,
what if he calculated wrongly.

And torturous for me - coz - he keeps 'what if-ing' with me!

One of his teachers was telling them about a student who didn't get the results she expected and she killed herself! I told Damian (the day before the results were out) that if he kills himself, I'll kill him!!!

So... UPSR so important meh? 5As so important meh?

On results day, one of the boys were seen with his fingers crossed, eyes screwed shut and chanting to himself "Pls let me get a C! Please let me get a C!" (He was expecting a D for his BM paper!)

Another boy who was totally not expecting it, continued to stare off into space when his name was announced as amongst those who has gotten 5As!

A girl cried coz she worked so hard for her BM, score the A, but then scored a B in another paper!

Seriously ... how important are the As? Yes, of course it's great to have, but seriously.....does it really determined our kids future?

Stephanie and Josehine is now worried that they can't get 5As. I always told them.... no need to compete with kor-kor. Be the best they can be. Always either do better or maintain their own standards. Good advice? And when they've tried their best (and don't get an A), I really think they deserve a reward for their efforts.

My new website

Whoppeee!!! I've just built my own website! It's http://www.breastfeeding.weebly.com/

Weebly allows you to quickly and easily build your own website and to host it with them for FREE.

I've always been confused navigating the wold of websites, web hosting, domains etc. I've been intrigued, but all these words are 'martian' to me. I'm the type of person who only cares that when I switch on my laptop, it's working and can get connected to the internet.

So, you can see... I'm mighty proud of myself!! Hooray! No longer confused! Am a top-notch web-designer! Hahaha!

Happy

The family's so happy! Happy came to us last Saturday 21 March 2009. Sine then, the home is filled with cheerful cries of "Happy!! Happy Come here! Happy Stay! Happy Stand! Happy Fetch!!"

Happy is our new Dog! She is a beautiful mix of 'something' and 'something' = MONGREL

I got to know about Happy through the lady who sells chicken at the market. Apparently the previous owner has nose cancer and the doctor said 'No dogs!" They're looking for someone to adopt their beloved dog. Otherwise, it'll have to go to SPCA.

Growing up, we always have dogs around. But since I got married and have kids, we did not have any pets. My record isn't very good when it comes to dogs.

About 3 years ago, we got a stray dog home. We named her Princess. But Princess was sick, and the vet advised us to put her to sleep.

Then a friend gave us "Max", a mix-bred Terrier who was a bit mad. The kids were terrified of him. For such a small dog, it could bite! So, we gave it away to my aunt's friend who has a big Mastiff. They're adorable together, but when Max got out of line, a growl from the Mastiff is enough to make Max cower.

After that we adopted a 'vegetable-dog' aka market-mongrel named Bubbles. Bubbles was great until, one night as I was driving my car into the house, she broke free of her chain and ran off. She came back to the gate and when I opened it for her, she ran off again. She kept at this several times until I got fed-up! It's already 1 am! So I left Bubbles outside and never saw her again!

Now we've got Happy!!! Happy has been to dog training school. She knows where her 'toilet' is (on a patch of grass in front of the house). She knows that when we start the car, she must go into her cage (or she might be runned-over). We don't even have to lock the cage! She's gentle and friendly. She's obedient. She's clean and disease free. She doesn't touch our shoes! She's a fantastic dog, and we're happy with Happy!!

It's so nice hearing "Happy, Happy, Happy" ringing through the house.
Hmm... I'm thinking... maybe we should get another dog and name it "Money"!
